 Sunday 18th June 2017 Pentecost 2

 Call to Worship:

This is our desire: to follow you

This is our choice: to walk along the way of Jesus

This is how we define ourselves on this day: disciples of Christ

This is who we are: Christians

Gathering together as believers with our faults,

Our failings, our doubts and fears,

Our triumphs and tragedies, our quiet joys and our exultant moments.

Some public…some private…

Some obvious to everyone but ourselves

Some known only to our deepest trusted friends.

As we are, we come: declaring by our presence

Commitment to the journey, openness to the possibility of change

Willingness to be challenged to accept healing

A desire to follow the way of Jesus, wherever it may lead

And so we worship.

May the words that have touched our hearts enliven our hearts

May the liveliness of our hearts enable our hands

May the acts of our hands so transfigure our lives

That Jesus is seen by the power of the Holy Spirit

All graced in the love of God our Father. Amen.

Call to Dugald…

Last week our congregation voted to extend a call to the Rev Dugald Wilson. This call is now put before the Alpine Presbytery on Friday 23rd June to be approved. The Presbytery is responsible for organising a service of induction.

Building Report

Our architect is currently working on detailed drawings for the strengthening of the church.

We have been looking seriously at an alternative proposal for the strengthening but have decided to progress with the solution proposed by Structex.

We hope to have detailed architectural drawings prepared by the end of this month. A review of cost will then be undertaken.

We will aim to have a question and answer session after worship on Sunday 2nd July to update everyone.

A very warm welcome to all who worship with us this morning. Our thanks to Rev Alan Webster for leading today’s worship. Please stay for morning tea after the service.

Wednesday Walkers 21st June: Meet 9.45am at The Landing on the Runway at the intersection of the road of the Skyhawks for a walk around Wigram where the Kittyhawks go. Coffee at Joe’s Garage. All welcome. Rob 027 273 1387.

Crafty Crafters Thursdays 10am-12 noon at Beckenham Methodist. $3 per session. Bring along your own craft project, or learn a new skill! Contact Beverley 384 7814 for further details.

Due to illness Rev Andrew Norton will not be able to fulfil his nomination to be the next Moderator of the General Assembly of the PCANZ. If you have a suggestion to be the next Moderator, please communicate this with Irene, our Session Clerk, before 12th July.
