A TIME OF SILENCE

AN AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
We believe in God whose creativity is not defeated
by concrete or traffic, but shines forth in the centre of our life.
We believe in Jesus Christ who lived as friend and Saviour

THE BLESSING

FIREWOOD FOR SALE: Following the cutting down of the big cedar tree beside the church, by a contract arborist, the roundels are in the process of being split by church members using a motorised log splitter. Approx 60% has been split creating around 9 cubic metres of firewood stacked at the back of the church. The Board of Managers has agreed to sell this to members at $100 a low-sided trailer load.

Come and find the quiet centre
in the crowded life we lead,
find the room for hope to enter,

Silence is a friend who claims us,

God it is who speaks and names us,

THE OFFERING
We trust O God that there are things we can do and bring and say and sing. We can sing for joy, we can say a prayer, we can bring our love and we can do our share. As we present our offering today we do so with hearts of thanksgiving, that it may be used for your purposes in our congregation, in the wider church, and in our neighbourhoods and world. We ask your blessing upon us and these gifts we pray, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

SERMON: Jesus in the Borderlands – again!

THE OFFERING
God, we bring our gifts with thanksgiving; we bring our gifts seeking wholeness and healing – for the earth and all its creatures.
May these gifts go to work in the homes of our church community.
May these gifts go to work in our communities and in places far from here; among those we know and those whose names we will never know.
Bless these gifts, as we dedicate ourselves to the healing, reconciling work of Jesus Christ. Amen.
